The Buccaneer

During the closing stages of the War of 1812, privateer Jean Lafitte proposes marriage to a young Annette de Remy - though she implores that he forgo his pirating ways before she accepts, fearing for his life when a bounty is placed upon the man's head. Despite her pleas, the news that one of his captains has seized an American ship against his orders forces Lafitte onto the open seas once more. His pursuit of that treacherous captain sets in motion a chain of events that soon spirals far beyond his control, and what was once a simple mission to put down a disobedient captain becomes a tale of swashbuckling, romance, and adrenaline-fuelled adventure.
