The 39 Steps

The year is 1914. The spectre of war looms over Europe, but even with its grim shadow cast across the continent, unseen forces lurk in the shadows. Away from the prying eyes of the world's governments, they lay in wait to enact plots of their own, and further their own agenda - no matter the cost to human life. Richard Hannay’s neighbour expresses to him his fear that the Greek Premier is to be assassinated during his trip to London in an attempt to destabilise Europe’s already tense position. But when his neighbour is found murdered only days later, Hannay will find himself embroiled in a plot that runs far deeper than he could have thought.
